I am directed by the Earl of Kimberley to acquaint you that, subject to your ability to pass a medical examination as to your fitness to serve in a tropical climate, he proposes to appoint you for a term of three years to be Apothecary for the Government Hospital, Hong Kong, with a salary of $1440 per annum, rising by five increments to $1920, and free quarters for a single man, with food and lighting.
